Victoria's own
5th (BC) Field Regiment, RCA Band is the only Canadian Forces Primary
Reserve brass-and-reed military band on Vancouver Island. It provides
students and professionals, from as far away as Port Alberni and Courtenay, with a great part-time job, while
fostering an esprit de
corps not found in the civilian world. The Band rehearses one night a week and provides musical support for
Victoria's
large military community by performing at formal dinners, dances, parades, military ceremonies and public
concerts.
There are Reserve bands all over Canada if you move away from Victoria. Make a career of it!
